Nick Wenger

Specialist Orthodontist

Nick Wenger is a registered Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council and an NHS Consultant Orthodontist. He is also a member of the British Orthodontic Society and British Dental Association.

Nick holds a Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics from the University of London in addition to his Membership in Orthodontics and Fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

He qualified as a Dentist from the Royal London Hospital in 1996. After qualification, Nick held a Commission in the Royal Navy for 7 years, reaching the rank of Surgeon Lieutenant Commander. During this time he served ashore in the UK, Canada and Brunei Darussalam. His deployments to sea included the West Indies, and the Mediterranean.

In 1999 he underwent further training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Hospital Haslar and Queen Alexandra’s Hospitals in Portsmouth, culminating in attaining his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

After leaving the Navy, Nick undertook his 3 year postgraduate orthodontic training at Guys Dental Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This was followed by a further two years training at the Bristol Dental Hospital culminating with attainment of his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Nick currently holds the posts of Consultant in Orthodontics at The Royal Cornwall Hospital and Associate Professor at the Peninsula Dental School where he oversees the undergraduate orthodontic curriculum.

Being actively involved in Research and Clinical Audit allows Nick to remain at the forefront of the orthodontic profession. He has been extensively published in refereed journals and continues to be involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
