Dr. Andrew DiBiase

Specialist Orthodontist

Andrew undertook his undergraduate training at Kings College, London; then postgraduate training at the Royal London Hospital, with Senior Registrar training at the Charles Clifford Dental School, Sheffield.

Since his appointment as a consultant, he has developed an extensive research portfolio, is part of the UK Orthodontic National Clinic Trials Network and has received numerous awards and grants. His research interests include the clinical effectiveness of appliances and the psychosocial impact of malocclusion. Andrew has also published over 65 papers in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored two textbooks, including the Handbook of Orthodontics. Alongside all of this, Andrew also runs a successful private practice and has lectured internationally.

Andrew has been awarded the Maurice Berman Prize for Clinical Excellence by the British Orthodontic Society and has twice won the Dewel Clinical Research Award by the American Association of Orthodontists, most recently in 2019. He is a full member of the Angle Society of Europe.

Cornelia Prevot-Loudiere

Dr Zahida Parveen

Dentist with Special Interest in Orthodontics

She has an approachable manner which puts even the most nervous patients at ease and has excellent clinical and communication skills, treating both Adults and Children. Her interests include aesthetic treatments using Invisalign, Ceramic appliances, and Early years intervention using growth modification with functional appliances.

Zahida was a prize-winning student who graduated from Bristol University in 1988. She worked in general dental practice for 10 years before starting her Orthodontic career, completing her 3-year Diploma in Primary Care Orthodontics in 2013 at the Royal College of Surgeons England.

Kashif Mirza

Dentist with special interest in Orthodontics

In 2006, he passed his International Qualifying Exams with the General Dental Council to allow him to practice dentistry in the United Kingdom.

To further his knowledge in Orthodontics he went to Warwick University and successfully gained Certificate in Orthodontics He continued with further education and upgraded the Certificate in Orthodontics into M(Clin) Dent i.e., Masters of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from BPP University in London.

Dr Mirza prides himself in updating his knowledge and clinical skills by regularly attending continuous professional development courses.

He is proud in providing several patients a beautiful smile. His patients claim that their straight teeth and smile has boosted their self esteem and confidence.

Dr Mirza provides his Orthodontic services to practices in Kent, Suffolk, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Norwich Dr Mirza believes that prevention is better than cure. Hence he emphasises on maintaining a meticulous oral hygiene and a low sugar diet.

Dr Mirza loves travelling. He has travelled to Asia, Africa, Europe and America.

Before this I was a qualified dental nurse working in practice from 1995 before moving to the Maxillo Facial Department in both Kent and Canterbury and William Harvey hospitals in 2002. Here I gained both my Oral Health Education and my Orthodontic Nurse Specialist qualifications.

I now work as an Orthodontic Therapist both here at Portman Smile Clinic and at both hospitals. I am dedicated to both quality of my patients treatment and excellence in their care. I also specialise in the treatment of special needs patients.

Natasha Parker

Dental Nurse

She moved into Orthodontics in 2018 and has been with Portman Smile Clinic since they opened an orthodontic practice in Margate. Natasha is looking forward to developing her role as an Orthodontic Dental Nurse and is hoping to further her career with Portman with additional training opportunities. Natasha keeps fit in her spare time running around after her 2 children and participates in family bike rides.

Claire Jackson

Before long she was sucked into being part of a team to help improve patient’s teeth and enjoyed the satisfaction of people having the ability to smile again after hiding it for a long time. Claire then moved to a sedation clinic for a further challenge to help people with severe phobias. The real satisfaction of helping people was not yet achieved so she then moved to the Portman family to help kids and adults with orthodontics. This was an easy step as Claire can relate to what they are going through as she has also had orthodontic treatments in the past.

Having had extensive orthodontic treatment herself she realised what a positive impact orthodontics can have on peoples lives and decided to pursue a career in the field. Kayleigh is passionate about delivering high standards of patient care and helping patients achieve their best possible results throughout treatment.

I love to talk to patients and was quickly hooked on how rewarding it is to follow the progress of treatment from the initial consultation, through to the final appointment and to see the difference it can make to a patients confidence!

I transferred to Portman Smile Clinic in 2019 when the practice opened, and hope to continue to add many more years to already over a decade's worth of experience in orthodontics and train for new skills in the future.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading and spending time with my husband and 2 children and have discovered a love for DIY whilst renovating my Victorian house. In recent years I have completed a Race for Life, a London to Brighton bike ride for the BHF, climbed the o2 arena and Elizabeth Tower, I am excited to find my next challenge!

Samantha Horn

Head nurse

26 of those years were in private general dentistry, with work including crowns, implants, whitening etc. Sam then moved in Ortho and hasn't looked back. She is passionate about both her patients and her nursing staff, with a wealth of knowledge to pass onto everyone she meets.
